Web content checker | | | | Replies | | | | Author: | | enrix (---.info-com.com) | | | Date: | | 07.08.06 | | Hello web experts,
I would like to ask you if you know of any tools that can check the content of web pages and report those that are not correctly loaded on Vignette and more in general on dynamic portals. On some of our web pages we often get "Content Item Unavailable" and this problem has to be fixed by hand, but we cannot do it until we do not find which pages have this problem. I was wondering if there is an automatic tool that can report the pages showing that error message. Any suggestion?
TIA

Vamosa have a content analyser tool that is capable of doing this for you. It would require the setting up of a query beforehand but the tool would be able to pick up on the error messages that you are receiving and flag them to youo automatically.
Vamosa have also just released a free version of their toolset which will allow you to analyse and migrate up to 1,000 unique url's. Vamosa Community Edition, as it is known, can be freely downloaded from www.vamosa.com.
I think this may be of use to you as a start. If you require any additional information please feel free to contact me via the forum or call +44 (0)141 574 2500.
Hope this helps.
