 Which operating systems are supported? Windows NT/2000/XP, Solaris, AIX, Linux, AS400, S390 and all operating systems a J2EE compatible applicaton server can be found for. Which web servers are supported? WebGate Anywhere Publishing server is the supported Web server. No additional Web server is needed.
If desired, addtional Web servers such as Appache, IIS or Lotus Domino can be used. Which database systems are supported? WebGate Anywhere supports 15 different databases as "content store": SQL databases like DB2, Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, MS-SQL as well as Lotus Notes databases. Content from all JDBC enabled relational databases can be published. Which script languages can be used? On the client side (i.e. browser) all client script languages such as JavaScript, VB-Script etc can be used.
On the server side XML based WebTML (Web Template Markup Language) can be used as well as server-sided JavaScript (TMLScript). Is additional software required for the normal system operation? WebGate Anywhere runs on a J2EE compatible application server (Websphere, BEA Weblogic, IPlanet, ..., Tomcat, JRun, ...). Which prices does the product have? The server licence for WebGate Anywhere begins at 19.900 EUR. Authors need a licence for 250 EUR per client. Which target group(s) do you address with your product or services? Target group are medium-sized business as well as large enterprises and global players.
A ASP solution for smaller companies is planned. Which technology/architecture is used? WebGate Anywhere bases on Java 2 Enterprise Edition and Java Server Pages.
WebGate Anywhere integrates different open source products including Rhino (server-sided JavaScript), Appache FOP, Dum4J (XML parser), Lucene (fulltextengine). According to which models are the licence costs calculated? WebGate Anywhere customers need a server licence for each authoring and publishing server as well as authoring licences for each client. Which licence models are offered? In addition to the software licence a ASP model is planned.
