Knowledge management data bases/ knowledge pools:

This solution technically realizes the constitution of a knowledge pool for all employees, partners or customers of an enterprise or administration, depending on individual authorization. The factual knowledge of an enterprise can be registered, structured, administrated, founded and used in this knowledge data base (knowledge pool).

Open-EIS supports both the central and local construction of the knowledge pool. Every location, every subsidiary company or every administration can have its own local knowledge pool. The knowledge pool supports two functions: questioned and unquestioned knowledge. Unquestioned knowledge means information of subject areas, that are important for the business area of the enterprise or administration. New perceptions from special publications, product descriptions, work instructions or experiences from the daily work can be registered here.

Yellow-Pages is a solution to make the knowledge of a person that has the most experience with an actual problem useable. So that you can pass down knowledge to other persons (learn from an expert).

Important is, that the knowing person could also be an external person. The search act over “circumstances” from the YP of the open-EIS knowledge management is very useful, because it is often searched for solution competence (“Knowledge of this customer”, “experience with electronic forms for the city council”, “contract law of China”) and only sometimes for specialized knowledge. The YP is focusing actuality, accuracy and maintenance without additional manual investment.

Spanning keyword classification:

With open-EIS knowledge management you have a spanning classification of any electronic information that can be administrated in open-EIS solutions and modules. The classification can be used for all open-EIS solutions, not only for the open-EIS knowledge management function.

The keyword system makes it possible to associate for example emails with products, contacts, press reports, etc. You can use determined keywords and individual keywords (separate or mixed). There are synonyms provided, that can have optional deep hierarchies.

Voting:

The open-EIS knowledge management solution offers also the functionality to evaluate different information, for example in the knowledge data base or the Yellow-Pages solution. The evaluation can also be used for other information that are maintained in open-EIS. You can evaluate panels contributions, documents, contacts or even contents of web pages. This quality evaluation of information is important if you search for high-quality information from a knowledge management solution.
