MATERNA acquires SAP consulting company - cbs
As of 1 July 2005 the IT service provider MATERNA Information & Communications is taking over cbs Corporate Business Solutions Unternehmensberatung GmbH, which is based in Heidelberg. By purchasing cbs, MATERNA has acquired a premium supplier of SAP consultancy services. The company, which was founded in 1995, possesses a great deal of international industrial expertise and has developed into one of the leading SAP consultancies in international mechanical engineering, tool building and plant construction. Last year cbs achieved a turnover of 11.2 million Euros with 80 employees. By purchasing cbs, MATERNA is above all extending its expertise and activities in the consultancy sector. As a 100% subsidiary within the MATERNA group, cbs will operate independently on the market.
"As part of the MATERNA Group, we will be accelerating our current growth in our core segments. In addition we will be gaining access to new important SAP markets in service management and government areas and will profit from the international expansion of the MATERNA group”, explains Harald Sulovsky, CEO and founder of cbs.
With this acquisition, MATERNA intends to position itself increasingly as a premium service provider for SAP company solutions. "We will implement this plan consistently over the coming two years and in this way continue with our growth strategy in the SAP consultancy market as well”, CEO Dr. Winfried Materna describes the acquisition. cbs has a proven track record in SAP expertise, possesses a solid customer base and is profitable. "As a provider of highly qualified business process and technology consulting in the SAP environment, cbs is an excellent complement to our sector and service portfolio in the fields of service management, IT technologies and government solutions”, comments CEO Winfried Materna.
The strengths of cbs lie in the close relationship between high quality and comprehensive SAP solutions skills with specific sector and process expertise. The company supervises company-wide SAP implementation and optimisation projects on a comprehensive national and international level and supports its customers with a complete service portfolio to create and optimise integrated business processes and systems architectures.

In future MATERNA and cbs will be working closely together on projects for industry and public administrations.
