In future, customers of the leading developer and manufacturer of electronic packaging systems in France will be able to order all products directly online. After a one-off activation of their account, users will be able to access all functionalities of the online shop for the French market under schroff.fr.

Schroff administers all product information on the basis of the Product Information Management System ASIM by DHW, Waiblingen. The product structure, which has been developed within this PIM system, represents the basis for the cross-media depiction of the entire range of products in the print catalogue, on the Internet as well as on CD-ROM. The basis of the online shop for the French market is the ASIM module "ASIM InstantWeb”, which has been developed by communicode. This flexible product with its combination of e-Shop and personalisation module represents a tried and tested parcel for reproducing personalised order processes on the online platform of Schroff. Using the so-called "PowerSearch” function, users are able to search for articles with certain characteristics. In addition, any matching accessory articles or complementary products will be shown on the result page. The order function permits the compilation of shopping baskets; orders will be administered and customer-specific prices displayed by means of a login. The advantages for the customers are clear: an easy and in particular comfortable ordering process.

In order to be able to optimally fulfil all of Schroff’s requirements, communicode integrated both the product information from ASIM with all customer information from Schroff’s CRM system and the price information from the ERP system. ASIM InstantWeb functions as middleware with relevant interfaces for the integration of various data sources. Apart from that, the scalable online platform of ASIM InstantWeb provides a highly performant publication basis. Schroff has been using this component of the e-Business expert for creating electronic product catalogues - online as well as on CD-ROM since 2003.
