ACE*COMM Corporation, provider of advanced operations support systems (OSS) solutions for communications networks, announced that it will be presenting at the IPComm 2004 Conference, November 15-17, in Las Vegas, Nevada - the industry's premier event for enterprises and service providers who seek proven strategies and solutions to plan, build, and deploy Voice over IP (VoIP).

ACE*COMM's Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Couch, will present: "Making VoIP Work: Critical Technologies for Implementing IP Services and Enabling OSS Functions" as part of 'Track 1: Infrastructure: Planning & Implementation', on Wednesday, November 17 at 2:45 PM. This track sets the stage for the key decisions that carriers and service providers must make regarding when, where, and how to deploy VoIP.

Mr. Couch will draw from ACE*COMM's IP mediation experience to illustrate how an effective mediation platform solves VoIP implementation and integration problems. Service providers who plan to upgrade their OSS/BSS to support the rollout of IP Voice and application services face a number of challenges in terms of deployment and integration with their existing OSS/billing systems. These challenges can include:

* Translating events to standard call records

* Time-to-market demands

* Integrating with legacy billing systems

* Tying together data from disparate sources to ensure that all required information (content, usage, service, jurisdiction, partner information) is available to the OSS applications

* Reducing the volume of call records sent to the billing system - and thus the cost of bill processing - without reducing the revenue from the billable calls

* Recovering potentially lost revenue by correcting erroneous call records before they are sent to - and rejected by - the billing system

The presentation will use real-life case studies to illustrate how an effective mediation platform solves implementation and integration problems by creating a layer of service control between the usage collection system and the downstream OSS/BSS.
