Fribourg Third Swiss Province to choose CONTENS
The Swiss Province of Fribourg has made plans to conduct its online strategy within the framework of CONTENS. The contract to construct a new Internet portal went to the bidding consortium under the direction of CONTENS’ Swiss partner New Impact AG. Aside from Fribourg the provinces of Aargau and Solothurn already use the CMS platform CONTENS, making it the Content Management Software Swiss provinces use most.
The Swiss Province Fribourg chose to implement CONTENS’ Content Management Software after leading an extensive search among well-known international providers.
The administrative district, which is divided into seven head authorities and more than one hundred departments, hopes the decision in favor of CONTENS will lend the region a long-lasting synergy effect regarding costs, quality and conversion speed. The unified technology platform and the contractor’s many years of experience with similar projects ensure comfortable and dependable operation for the regional administration, aside from low investments and a high level of flexibility and scalability.
A decisive factor for the IT experts in Fribourg for choosing CONTENS was the strong scope of services as well as the high level of flexibility inherent in the software. The province of Fribourg is in the meantime the third Swiss province to implement CONTENS for its online projects in municipal administration. The provinces of Aargau and Solothurn have already been using the ColdFusion-based CMS platform CONTENS for the construction and operation of their online Internet and Intranet offerings for many years now.
