Day, provider of global content management software, announced that multimedia service provider Aperto has relaunched the Volkswagen press portal using Day’s software Communiqué. At http://www.volkswagen-media-services.com journalists now have quicker access to latest news and digital press folders as well as to new offerings, such as broadcast-quality videos and audios.
In just a few weeks, Aperto was able to launch the website using Day’s Communiqué. The concept for the portal was based on the results of the research of the usability laboratory of Aperto.
Twenty-four hours a day, individual information packages are available for download comprising press releases, background reports and photos. The extensive photo material was extended with the feature “light table”. The electronic light table allows users to compare several photos in one view making it easier to decide which photos best suit one’s requirements, e.g. the first pictures of the new Golf Plus.
By using the “Press Release Subscription” feature on the portal, users can compile a personal information folder and also can subscribe to press releases dealing with topics of interest and choose the subscription periods. Via a list with more than 50 contacts, journalists can locate the right contact persons at Volkswagen Group Communications and within the brands responsible for various topics.
