McLaren Software, a independent software vendor specializing in engineering content management applications, and FileNet Corporation, provider of Enterprise Content Management and Business Process Management solutions, announced the general availability of McLaren Enterprise Engineer for the FileNet P8 Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform. The product will debut at daratechPLANT2005 at booths P3 and P10.

McLaren Enterprise Engineer is a suite of configurable, out-of-the-box applications for the management of all forms of engineering content. The suite of applications is designed to meet the business requirements of organizations in process manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities, government, and design & construction sectors, as well as other organizations operating large production facilities and similar assets. Enterprise Engineer is designed to accelerate the business processes associated with engineering content, such as drawings, correspondence, procedures, specifications and other related documents, reduce cost and risk, improve efficiency and ensure compliance related to the use of valuable and complex information.

Enterprise Engineer exploits .NET, web services architecture and the powerful content and business process management functionality of the FileNet P8 platform to deliver an intuitive user interface that is easy to deploy and operate.

McLaren Enterprise Engineer for FileNet P8 was released in late December 2004 and has been validated through a highly successful early adopter program.

"FileNet's manufacturing initiative is focused on delivering ECM solutions for Asset and Plant Lifecycle Management that will provide engineering organizations with improved visibility and control of content and processes," said Lee Roberts, FileNet chairman and CEO. "Enterprise Engineer for FileNet P8 allows our customers to manage complex engineering content and automate critical engineering processes to improve quality and decision making across their organizations."

McLaren Software is expanding its already strong channel partner presence in the Americas and is working with FileNet to recruit joint channel partners worldwide with particular emphasis on Europe and Asia. McLaren is currently a member of FileNet's Independent Software Vendor (ISV) program.

Paul Muir, CEO with McLaren Software, believes that the launch confirms McLaren's position as a leading independent software vendor in the engineering document management applications market. "FileNet's decision to partner with McLaren Software to develop Enterprise Engineer on the FileNet P8 platform confirms the growing importance that focused applications bring to the users of enterprise content management platforms and is an acknowledgment of our strength and expertise in the engineering market."
