Stellent, Inc., a global provider of content management solutions, announced the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation has selected the Stellent(R) Image Management system to digitize and manage its extensive Park Property File, which contains records for approximately 1,900 parks of all types and sizes.

The Stellent implementation will enable the Parks Department to scan these records -- including property descriptions, maps, copies of park laws and resolutions, park acquisition documents, and correspondence -- into a single, Web-based repository that can be readily and conveniently accessed by park staff, other government agencies and the public through a Web browser. Stellent Image Management also will allow the Parks Department to index records by park property number, park name, block and lot identifier, document type, and date, making them easy to search for and retrieve.

"The number of records per park ranges from less than 10 pages for very small parks to thousands of pages for the city's largest parks," said Parmod Tripathi, agency chief contracting officer for the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. "Consequently, we need an imaging solution that can scale to accommodate this wide range of sizes. Stellent Image Management fulfills this requirement and provides the most comprehensive, high-quality features of all the solutions we evaluated. We look forward to leveraging its scalability to roll out additional records management applications beyond our initial Park Property File implementation."

Paperless Solutions, Inc. -- a Stellent partner and sales and service company dedicated to solving business problems through the use of content management software and hardware -- will help the Parks Department implement Stellent Image Management, and will provide the agency with training and support services.

"A number of government agencies utilize a variety of our content management functionalities -- from imaging and Web content management to document management and digital asset management -- to streamline their information processes," said Robert Olson, president and chief executive officer for Stellent. "We look forward to helping the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation transition its large volume of paper documents and records into an electronic format that can be easily accessed by internal and external audiences."
