Succesful eCommerce-Relaunch of Förch-group with .NET-CMS QualiSite
The new Internet solution www.foerch.de of the international group Förch has just been launched. The project was developed on basis of the .NET-CMS QualiSite. QualiSite is a product of PGK Software & Communication GmbH, Staufen/Germany, who developed and implemented the complete solution for Förch.
The focus of the new solution is on the mapping of the big and broad range of of products, altogether more than 25.000 articles. The product informations are centrally kept and administrated at Förch-group in a AS 400 and made available online on Microsoft SQL Server.
PGK developed an interface to the AS 400 on basis of .NET to make the data ready for the web and to show them via CMS on the website. This way the product informations have to be edited just once and there is no additional cost or effort in editing data.
The work of several hundred sales men at Förch is from now on much easier through to a very efficient and user-oriented solution. After the Login, salesmen can select product informations and bundle them to individual datasheets or special offerings. The whole process is easy to handle and ends up with the automatic generation of PDF documents which can be e-mailed or given to the customer as a print out.
The advantages are obvious: local handling, easy and timesaving production, individual and immediate availability, saving of ressources, application of proven and actual data.
„ PGK has shown us with this project that web-based solutions can be far more than just company and product informations on a website.“, says the responsible project manager at Förch, Jörg Beier. „The centrally based administration and editing of our extremely big product database in combination with a web-based system which allows us to individually generate sales information directly through our sales staff results in a remarkable jump of efficiency and flexibility at Förch. There is no doubt about a fast amortization of this project."
Upon final completion of the whole project QualiSite will be used by more than 10 European subsidiaries who will edit their websites by means of the integrated translation workflow.
This way Förch can ensure an efficient and practical administration and edition of several language version and websites for their broad product range.
Förch-group, Neuenstadt/Germany, makes a turnover of more than 135 Mio. Euro with 1150 employees, thereof 700 sales men. Customer support is basically done in the classical field of direct sales in the car and construction parts trade industry.
PGK Software & Communication GmbH, Staufen/Germany has it's key competence in the development of applications based on .NET. The customer base is focused on medium sized and large companies from all over Europe and the US.
QualiSite is the .NET-based Content Management System of PGK GmbH and builds the basis for a fast and uncomplicated setup and edition of websites for the Inter-,Intra- or Extranets.
