Open Text™ Corporation, provider of Enterprise Content Management ( ECM ) software, announced that Airtricity, an international leading renewable energy company, has chosen Open Text’s Livelink to provide a framework for enhanced internal collaboration and the controlled management of documentation throughout the organization and supply chain.

Airtricity is one of Europe's leading fully integrated renewable energy companies, focusing in three main areas: Wind farm development, finance and ownership of wind farms and green electricity supply.

Livelink will enable Airtricity to radically improve team and organizational collaboration, both internally and externally with partners and customers. This will improve efficiency and customer service. Airtricity will also use Livelink to automate burgeoning paper and unstructured electronic media repositories, implement common filing policies and reduce the effort in storing and retrieving documents and files.

Dermot Moore, Project Delivery Manager at Airtricity, said: “Selecting the right business partner was essential and the level of service and technical expertise demonstrated by Open Text scored highest out of all the proposals we reviewed.”

Moore added: “We see Livelink as an essential component in delivering key elements of our IT Strategy. We selected Livelink to help increase efficiency, improve internal and external communication and improve services we offer both within the organization, and to our partners and customers.”

The project is in its first phase, with Controlled Document migration currently taking place and user groups going “live” as documentation is migrated. A detailed requirements gathering exercise has been completed as well as training in Livelink’s core functionality for Airtricity’s staff at several of its locations.

John Kirkham, Vice President of International Sales at Open Text, said: “Airtricity chose Open Text over 30 other potential suppliers for our mature, scalable solution, which was able to enhance the automation of highly sensitive information. Our focus on collaboration and content management together with our recognized short implementation cycle made Livelink the ideal choice for Airtricity.”

Airtricity was established in 1997 to develop wind energy in Ireland and abroad, and is currently developing wind farms in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland. As an integrated utility, the company is both a generator and supplier of electricity. The company currently supplies green renewable electricity to in excess of 30,000 commercial customers in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
