Plumtree Expands Channel Program for Portals and Integrated Activity Management Applications

As a part of ongoing efforts to provide customers with an open portal platform to build integrated activity-based composite applications, Plumtree Software announced the launch of an expanded, global channel program called Synergy Alliance. With the industry focused on service-oriented architecture and composite applications, Plumtree provides a rich service-oriented environment for its channel partners to deliver applications that leverage the complete openness and true cross-platform capabilities of Plumtree's portal solutions. Plumtree is the only portal vendor that supports both J2EE and .NET, providing Synergy Alliance partners with the ability to quickly and easily develop applications and portal solutions designed to meet customers' needs, while not limiting their development to a single platform.
"Synergy Alliance is a natural evolution of our strategy to help customers and partners build Integrated Activity Management applications," said Paul Ciandrini, chief operating officer at Plumtree Software. "We are committed to building a strong channel and ensuring mutual success through the engagement, communication and support services we provide to our channel partners. Our commitment to Synergy Alliance is further evident by the hiring of our new channel team and the strategic decision to separate the channel program from competing internal sales."
Synergy Alliance builds upon the success that Plumtree and channel partners, such as CIBER, Inc., Deloitte Consulting LLP, Enterpulse, HandySoft Global Corporation, PPC, Rapidigm and Theoris have achieved building composite applications and portal solutions for customers around the world. The program allows channel partners to benefit from Plumtree's single development platform for J2EE and .NET, and quick development cycles for dependable profitability, and provides opportunities to increase services revenue through Plumtree engagements. Synergy Alliance offers a variety of resources such as demonstration software, a designated partner manager, technical and sales training, quarterly business reviews, pre- and post-sales support, lead referral program, marketing funding, partner-only Web site and posting capabilities on Plumtree's corporate Web site.
"We've seen Plumtree gain significant traction in the composite applications space by fine-tuning its product strategy and company direction," said Jason Salzetti, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP. "Many of our joint customers are seeing results based on Plumtree's focused approach. For instance, MassHousing, the leading provider of affordable housing in Massachusetts, built an Integrated Activity Management application using the Plumtree portal platform and Deloitte's services. The application connects lenders and business partners to approve loans, which reduced their underwriting process from one and a half days to a matter of minutes. With such business gains, we look forward to sharing future successes with Plumtree through their invigorated channel program."
"Working with Plumtree for quite some time, we are very pleased to see Plumtree expand its reach with a fortified channel program. Synergy Alliance offers new developer training programs to help us extend our expertise in building differentiated portal-based solutions for our joint customers," said Jay DeWalt, vice president, partner management, EMC Software. "Plumtree's open architecture makes it easy for joint customers to extract more value and expand the value proposition of their EMC Documentum enterprise content management platform."
There is no fee to participate in Synergy Alliance. For more information on joining Plumtree's channel program, please go to www.plumtree.com/partners. 09.03.2005, Plumtree Software
