Intershop's gala eOscar evening took place at CeBIT for the seventh time, with smart, bofrost*, TeleDanmark (TDC), and NetCologne all named as winners. Entries were judged in the categories Best B2B Solution, Best B2C Solution, and Best Procurement Solution.

Intershop traditionally presents its silver eOscars at CeBIT to recognize outstanding projects based on Intershop's packaged Enfinity software. On Friday evening, the Fürstenhaus Herrenhausen in Hanover formed the perfect backdrop for this year's event. "Away from the hustle and bustle of the actual show, the eOscars are traditionally a great opportunity for customers and partners to share their experience," says Ralf Männlein, the Intershop board member responsible for sales and marketing. "Once again, this year's event was a resounding success."

In the Best B2C Solution category, the jury decided to award shared first places to car maker smart und bofrost*, the European market leader in direct sales of frozen food and ice cream. Michael Gehle, head of sourcing and procurement at Softlab GmbH, explained the decision to recognize both companies: "Both solutions have an up-to-date, contemporary, and polished look with some nice extras. Seen overall, they have a very finished appearance."

Danish communications company TDC took the honors for Best B2B Solution. The TDC TOTALSHOP features communications services and the relevant hardware for mid-sized enterprises. Stefan Störig, responsible for coordinating IT policy at the MAN Group, described the solution as follows: "The elegant integration of the Intershop catalog into the portal demonstrates the potential of integrated solutions. The store manages to render a complex pricing model completely transparent to users."

NetCologne was recognized in the Best Procurement Solution category for its Enfinity-based application. This Internet Service Provider developed a virtual marketplace for the City of Cologne that allows businesses to market their services. Jury member Philipp Ilsemann, a journalist with IT Business News, praised the solution's short lead time and the innovative way in which a city authority teamed with local businesses.
