Globalization Challenges of Content Management Highlighted at Gilbane Conference in Amsterdam

The Gilbane Report and Lighthouse Seminars announced that the Gilbane Conference on Content Management Technology slated for Amsterdam at the RAI Centre, 25-27 May 2005, will feature educational sessions and panel discussions on the challenges of managing content across multiple countries and languages.

Mary Laplante, Vice President of Consulting Services, Bluebill Advisors, and Senior Editor, The Gilbane Report, will moderate two of the panel discussions on content globalization.

"Organizations doing business globally face some crucial challenges in managing content, such as complying with multiple international regulatory requirements and the need to publish content simultaneously in several languages on localized Web sites," says Laplante. "These sessions will bring together some of the best minds in the industry to explore the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) standard and other means of addressing these pressing issues."

Sessions covering international content topics include:

* "Solutions for Complex Content Applications," Thurs., 26 May, 11:00
Panel: Andrew Thomas, Adobe Systems, Inc.; Ian Larner, Information Architect and Software Engineer, User Technologies, IBM Hursley Lab; and Eric Silberstein, CTO & Founder, Idiom Technologies, Inc.
Moderator: Mary Laplante.

* "Challenges in Multilingual Content Management," Thurs., 26May, 14:00
Presenters: Detlef Obenaus, Senior Content Administrator, Documentation Department, LHS, "Challenges in Multilingual CMS - an LHS Case Study"; and Paul Trotter, Founder & CEO, AuthorIT, "The Role of XML in Translation Workflows."
