The renowned Zentrum Paul Klee (Paul Klee Center), which is in possession of the world’s most significant collection of paintings, water colors and sketches by the artist Paul Klee, has launched its website at www.zpk.org based on the Content Management Platform CONTENS. After constructing the tri-lingual Internet portal, CONTENS’ Swiss partner New Impact AG realized the visitor Web, which takes museum visitors closer to Paul Klee’s works with the use of multimedia terminals.

The central task at the Zentrum Paul Klee is the scientific indexing of the artistic, pedagogic and theoretical works by Paul Klee, as well as their meaning and social and cultural relationship to his time. The foundation Zentrum Paul Klee decided to use CONTENS to quickly construct and implement the Internet portal at www.zpk.org as well as for the visitor Web.

Next to the many efficient CMS functions, CONTENS’ simple work method especially convinced the project leaders. Within a very short time period, even completely inexperienced employees could create a very extensive website in German, English and French. CONTENS’ flexible ability for expansion was just as deciding, and was amply implemented in the site’s design. Website visitors can inform themselves about the many upcoming events with the help of an Event Calendar. A linkage to the data base of the Zentrum offers access to comprehensive documentation about Paul Klee and his creative period. Applicants have the option to upload their files with the help of the online application form.

Although the Internet portal is conceptualized for art-interested visitors before or after a visit to the Zentrum Paul Klee, the visitor Web offers an on-site tour of the project and the museum buildings as well as a data base with access to all of Paul Klee’s circa 10.000 works. Modern multimedia terminals are available to visitors and provide images and information about all of the most well-known Bern-born artist’s works.

Within the offerer community “bern plus” CONTENS’ Swiss partner New Impact AG was responsible for the conceptual design and the complete realization of the Internet portal and visitor Web.
