EMC Corporation, provider of information storage and management, announced the opening of its annual European Content Management User Conference taking place May 23-26, 2005 at the Centre Convecions Internacional, Barcelona, Spain. A record 1,250 attendees are participating from a variety of industries throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa, including financial services, government, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, utilities, consulting, media services and high tech in addition to members of the press community.

Dave DeWalt, President of the EMC Software Group, will deliver a keynote presentation that highlights the company's current strategy for information lifecycle management (ILM) and how the software group is bringing ILM solutions to the market. Additionally, he will explain how the integration of EMC's acquired software companies will support its ILM strategy. Dave will also discuss the company's leadership position in enterprise content management (ECM) with the recent release of Documentum 5.3 platform -- the world's first major ECM offering based on a completely unified architecture.

This year's event includes a separate partner conference for EMEA partners, product sessions for customers, tutorials, break-out tracks, technical presentations and product demonstrations. The conference will also include a Partner Exhibition where more than 40 EMC Documentum partners including top-level sponsors such as Fujitsu, Accenture, Acartus, Arbortext, BEA, HP and IBM will be demonstrating how their products and technologies complement and extend the Documentum ECM platform. In addition to the Documentum partners, more than 30 Documentum customers, including AstraZeneca, Danone, Elsevier, France Telecom, Rhodia, Lufthansa, Merck Sharp Dohme, Sanofi-Aventis and Volkswagen, will be leading sessions that describe and demonstrate the value of their Documentum ECM deployments.

"At Momentum this year, we developed a more extensive agenda of learning programs, case studies, technical sessions, specialized topics and networking opportunities to meet the ever-changing requirements of our valued partners and customers," said Dave DeWalt, President, EMC Software. "I anticipate this year's conference will build and expand on our strong relationships with our customers and will provide us feedback to help us continue to deliver leading edge ILM technology."
