The integration solution between the FIRSTspirit Content Management System (CMS) and the SAP Enterprise Portal, which was presented at CeBIT, has now been certified by SAP. The new product is called "SAP Business Package for FIRSTspirit" and it represents a solution for professional Web Content Management in the SAP Enterprise Portal environment.
Thorsten Heid, Managing Director of IT specialist HLP in Eschborn commented: "The demand for professional online editorial work, as part of the SAP Enterprise Portal has been getting quite loud in recent months. Consequently we thought about how both components could be professionally connected. Jointly with the renowned CMS supplier e-Spirit, we have developed a solution that is not only suitable, but also highly convenient for both sides – SAP Enterprise Portal users, and a company’s online editors. We are particularly pleased that SAP AG has officially certified the integration of FIRSTspirit in the SAP Enterprise Portal".
The SAP EP Business Package for FIRSTspirit in practical application:
Previously a company’s online editors were not only compelled to know their way around their Content Management System – they were also required to have administrative skills in the SAP Enterprise Portal area. With the new business package this is no longer required. Now editors work comfortably in their FIRSTspirit editorial environment, without the necessity of SAP skills in the SAP Enterprise Portal for creating and displaying new navigation structures, including roles and permissions.
"Thus complete transparency is provided for the user – a seamless transition in terms of navigation, look and content. At the same time the new SAP EP Business Package for FIRSTspirit enables automatic and unlimited content management with automatic updating in the background – in this process content can also be in multiple languages, it is media-neutral, hyperlink-capable, it can be personalized thanks to XML, and it is subject to the SAP Enterprise Portal permissions concept", explains Stephan Woltering, Managing Director of e-Spirit.
