Intershop Customer Deichmann Now Selling Online with Enfinity Suite 6

International shoe and leather specialist expands e-commerce activities

Deichmann, Europe's leading shoe retailer, is taking its established e-commerce activities to the next level by migrating to Intershop's latest software. The two companies have signed a corresponding agreement covering software licenses and services. This move will allow Deichmann to enhance the online shopping experience for customers across the full range of products. Implementation of the new Enfinity Suite 6 software at Deichmann is scheduled to take around three months.

"Intershop's Enfinity Suite 6 software was an easy choice for us because we've been working successfully with the company for five years now. We know Intershop, its proven products, and reliable service offerings very well. Ongoing development of the store software, a smart deployment concept, and, more recently, the availability of a Linux variant of Enfinity Suite 6 have all helped give us even greater confidence in Intershop as a long-term partner," says Michael Kraus, head of e-commerce at Deichmann.

Ralf Männlein, the Intershop board member responsible for sales and marketing: "Keeping our existing client base happy is a key priority at Intershop, and just as important as acquiring new business. Existing customers remain a major source of revenue."

The Deichmann group sold over 90 million pairs of shoes worldwide in 2004. Established in 1913, the company has some 1,000 outlets in Germany alone. As part of a multi-channel strategy, most Deichmann products have been available online since the fall of 2000.
