Agency.com, full service interactive agency, and Interwoven, Inc., provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, announced the successful launch of ISO New England's redesigned Web site, http://www.iso-ne.com. As a result, the organization is able to more effectively deliver critical information to its constituents in the New England wholesale energy marketplace.

For eight years, ISO New England Inc. has been the not-for-profit corporation responsible for the day-to-day operation of New England's bulk power generation and transmission system with an installed capacity of 32,000 megawatts. The organization also oversees the fair administration of the region's $7.25 billion wholesale electricity marketplace, which is comprised of more than 260 market participants. As a regional bulk power system operator, one of ISO New England's primary roles is to provide independent, essential and accurate market and power system data to its constituents.

ISO New England turned to Agency.com and Interwoven to create a dynamic Web site that could provide constituents with the most up-to-date and useful content, that could be easily managed and updated by business users across the organization. The redesigned site is the culmination of a multi-year site redesign effort between ISO New England and Agency.com, and is built on Interwoven ECM technology.

"The effectiveness of our site is critical to meeting the needs of our stakeholders and to fulfilling our mission as an organization," said Gordon van Welie, president and chief executive officer of ISO New England. "Our site ensures that stakeholders can quickly find information and the data they need to do their jobs better - which in turns helps the energy marketplace work better."

The ISO New England Web site redesign effort began in 2003 and, in addition to new design and navigation, includes a J2EE Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) implementation, extensive content reorganization, governance and migration, as well as improved search functionality. Agency.com worked with Interwoven to implement the company's market-leading Web Content Management (WCM) solution, enabling ISO New England to effectively manage over 25,000 pieces of content. Further, the redesigned Web site improves ease of use and access to important information for market participants, public officials and other key stakeholders to New England's wholesale electricity market.

"In markets such as energy where the speed and accuracy of information delivery is absolutely critical, ISO New England is truly a leader when it comes to leveraging cutting-edge technology and services to set an industry example of how this can be achieved," said Kevin Cochrane, vice president, WCM products and solutions, Interwoven. "Agency.com's services and expertise combined with Interwoven's proven WCM solution created a powerful platform on which ISO New England has created their new public site, and we look forward to continuing to work together over time as ISO's ECM needs evolve."

"Agency.com strives to make the complex simple for our clients and their customers -- a philosophy that served as a guiding principle throughout this complex site redesign project," said Don Scales, CEO, Agency.com. "By redesigning the site based on insights into end-user behaviors and preferences, we've helped ISO New England create a world-class Web site that is an efficient and effective resource for its energy constituents."

Moving forward, Agency.com and Interwoven will continue to work together to help ISO New England make iterative improvements to its Web site based on user feedback. A second-phase launch, scheduled for December 2005, will include a rollout of dynamic reports including five-minute pricing, selectable reports and real-time interchange data.
