Open Text Corporation, independent provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software, announced that it will focus on ways to create winning ECM strategies and present its latest ECM solutions at its premier global user conference LiveLinkUp Orlando 2005, November 14-17.

The conference, titled "ECM - Your Road to Success," will address how large organizations can develop effective ECM strategies to gain control of the flood of content from e-mail, ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft applications and other sources. Open Text customers will discuss how they are utilizing ECM technology to address new business challenges. Customer presentations will include representatives from companies such as chemical and energy giant Sasol, a 30,000-employee company that is using Livelink ECM to manage internal controls for corporate governance.

In addition to customer successes, the event will also highlight Open Text's Livelink ECM product roadmap and include detailed technical sessions. More than 1000 attendees are expected, including senior executives and managers, systems integrators, engineers, developers, trainers and industry experts. Conference events will address all aspects of ECM and the benefits of a comprehensive ECM Platform that customers can implement when they're ready, no matter where they're at in their ECM strategy.

GlobalStar Awards

Open Text will also present its GlobalStar Awards at LiveLinkUp Orlando. The awards recognize the successes of companies that have applied Open Text ECM solutions in innovative ways to achieve superior returns on investment and a powerful competitive edge. Previous winners of the GlobalStar Awards include industry leaders such as BT, Motorola, Pfizer, Sasol and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Bob Atkins, Application Architect at Open Text customer VSP, a winner of the ECM Leadership Award at LinkUp Phoenix 2004, said, "My participation in the GlobalStar Awards gave me a greater appreciation for the wide scope of the potential of ECM technology. The solutions presented at the user conference served as excellent models for anyone looking to improve their business practices with ECM."

"At LiveLinkUp Orlando, we will talk to customers about how the latest in ECM solutions map to their business strategies," said Bill Forquer, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing at Open Text. "Attendees will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about the innovative strategies and business approaches that have advanced the GlobalStar Awards finalists to the forefront of the market and technology."

All awards entries will be judged by a panel of independent industry experts according to collaboration, content and business-process elements deemed essential to a comprehensive ECM solution. The GlobalStar winners will be announced at the conference kick-off dinner on November 15, 2005.
