Building on the successful long-term relationship between Interwoven and Microsoft, including widely-implemented Interwoven solutions integrated with Microsoft Office 2003 editions, Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 and SharePoint Products and Technologies, Interwoven, Inc., provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, announced that today's Microsoft Office "12" ECM capabilities announcement reinforces the alignment of ECM strategies between the two companies. Interwoven's strategy to deliver deep domain expertise ECM solutions built on industry standard platforms includes embracing Office "12" content management capabilities.

"Interwoven's solutions built on SharePoint Products and Technologies today enable customers to realize even more value from both their Microsoft and Interwoven investments," said Sanjay Manchanda, Director of SharePoint Products and Technologies at Microsoft. "Looking ahead, it's great to know they are strategically planning for the future of both of our customers around Microsoft Office '12' and our ECM capabilities."

In May of this year Interwoven and Microsoft jointly announced a go-to-market plan focused on the Professional Services industry. The resulting strong integration between Interwoven's ECM solutions and Microsoft's platforms and technologies will enable customers to realize even more value from both their Microsoft and Interwoven investments.

"Interwoven's strategy is to provide deep domain expertise ECM solutions for business users across enterprises and professional service organizations," said Neil Araujo, vice president of professional services, Interwoven. "Interwoven's strong partnership with Microsoft allows us to quickly develop and deploy these value added solutions on the Microsoft platform and enhance rapid end user adoption. Interwoven and Microsoft having such complimentary strategies is great news for ECM buyers around the world."

Expanding a Successful Long Term Partnership

In May of this year, Interwoven also announced that it had achieved Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status, expanding an already successful long-term relationship between the two companies. The announcement also outlined a go-to-market plan to deliver tightly integrated ECM solutions to professional services firms including legal, accounting, management consulting, corporate legal departments, and IT consulting, to manage the entire content lifecycle through the tight integration of the Interwoven ECM Solutions with the Microsoft platform including Office and Windows.

The Gold Certified status in the Microsoft Partner Program reflects Interwoven's long history of demonstrated expertise with Microsoft technologies and to date has delivered tighter integrations than any other ECM vendor with Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, including the delivery of Interwoven's new WorkSite for SharePoint Portal Server 2003 integration.

Accelerating Joint Customer Productivity Today and in the Future

Customers around the world are already benefiting from the successful partnership between Interwoven and Microsoft that has been in place for over 10 years. The Interwoven Matter Centric Collaboration Solution, which is in use at over 1,500 Professional Service firms around the world, makes extensive use of Microsoft technologies. Joint customers cite ease of use and out-of-the-box integrations as benefits of the close working relationship between Interwoven and Microsoft.

For customers choosing Microsoft technologies, the tight alignment of ECM strategies between the two companies gives customers not only a robust combination of solutions to meet their ECM needs today, but also a flexible and extensible platform on which they can build for the future as their ECM needs grow.
