Sun Microsystems, creator and lead advocate of Java(TM) technology, and FatWire Software, provider of content management solutions for deploying Web sites and content-centric applications, announced an agreement to offer unlimited use licenses of FatWire Spark Portal Content Management (pCM) to new and existing Sun Java System Portal Server customers, including Sun Java(TM) Enterprise System (Java ES) and Sun Java Application Platform Suite subscribers, at no additional charge.

"Rich content is a key ingredient of any enterprise portal," said Joe Keller, VP of Marketing, SOA and Integration Platforms, Sun Microsystems. "While we continue to support a wide range of enterprise content management solutions, FatWire's Spark pCM software gives us a compelling, established, user-friendly tool to offer our customers without increasing their costs."

Customers can download FatWire Spark pCM immediately at http://www.fatwire.com/sun and access the range of functions executed from within the Java System Portal Server portlets, including:

* Content Creation & Management
allowing business users to create and manage content from within the portal interface;

* Content Delivery
includes four pre-built reference portlets for content display and provides developer interfaces and documentation for rapidly building additional portlets;

* Administration
helps administrators manage asset types and publishing processes.

Sun and FatWire plan to share technical support responsibility, with Sun taking the initial customer call.

"We're very pleased to provide Sun customers with our Spark pCM product. Sun is a leader in the portal space and this agreement enables us to introduce our product line to Sun's customers. Customers who appreciate Spark pCM will likely be interested in our other content management and personalization products. It's a win-win-win for FatWire, Sun, and Sun's customers," said Ken Delaney, Vice President of North American Sales and Operations at FatWire Software.

FatWire Spark pCM runs on the Solaris(TM) 10 Operating System, supporting both SPARCŪ processor-based and x86 platforms.
