Stellent, Inc., provider of content management solutions, announced it received a 2005 WebAward from the Web Marketing Association for the Stellent® Universal Content Management™ implementation at the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the nation’s largest private funder of breast cancer research. This is the second consecutive year Stellent was honored for a customer’s Web content management deployment. Stellent received a 2004 WebAward for its multi-site Web content management implementation at Genzyme Corp., a global biotechnology company.

The WebAwards, now in its ninth year, is the premier annual award competition recognizing the individual and team achievements of Web professionals who create and maintain corporate Web sites. The Web Marketing Association recognized the Stellent-powered Komen Foundation Web site — www.komen.org — as a "standard of excellence” that all corporate Web sites should strive to mirror.

"It’s rewarding to have a panel of independent Internet experts acknowledge our comprehensive Web site as a benchmark other corporations and nonprofit entities can reference when developing their own Web properties,” said Amir Tabei, director of information technology (IT) for the Komen Foundation. "Using Stellent Universal Content Management’s automatic publishing, really simple syndication (RSS) integration and personalization capabilities to help manage komen.org and our extranet serving more than 110 Affiliates has enabled us to provide our key audiences with timely, tailored breast cancer news and information.”

In addition, the Komen Foundation uses Stellent Universal Content Management’s extensive Web content management functionality to provide a common interface for its third-party eAdvocacy, donation and fulfillment systems accessed via the public Web site — creating a more powerful and memorable brand for the organization. Since the Komen Foundation launched its new Web site and extranet, public Web site visits have increased 285 percent, incoming calls from Affiliates have dropped dramatically and printing costs have been reduced.

"According to Komen Foundation representatives, Stellent technology has allowed the Foundation to make its public Web site and Affiliate extranet much more dynamic, comprehensive and accurate,” said Robert Olson, president and chief executive officer for Stellent. "These tangible benefits are directly attributable to the Stellent system’s open architecture, ease-of-use and powerful features and functionality. We are honored the Web Marketing Association has recognized our role in helping the Komen Foundation achieve its Web content management objectives.”
