Stellent, Inc., a global provider of content management solutions, announced it was among the select companies Forrester invited to participate in its Oct. 7, 2005 report, "The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Content Management Suites, Q3 2005.” In this evaluation, Stellent was cited as a strong performer in enterprise content management (ECM) and garnered the top ranking in the "Current Offering” category. Forrester is an independent technology research company that provides pragmatic and forward-thinking advice about technology’s impact on business.

According to The Forrester Wave report1, "Stellent has the strongest pure-play ECM suite offering. Stellent’s Universal Content Management offers the most complete current ECM suite offering of the vendors evaluated by supporting all three types of content: transactional, business, and persuasive. … Stellent’s Universal Content Management offers a single platform for ECM, something very few ECM vendors can claim. Stellent offers the strongest combination of ECM capability breadth and suite readiness thanks to an early, aggressive focus on delivering a true ECM suite to the market. … Stellent’s breadth in ECM and strength in suite readiness gives this smaller but gutsy ECM suite vendor a solid foundation for content-centric applications.”

"We are pleased Forrester recognized our strong ECM product suite in its recent Forrester Wave report,” said Dan Ryan, executive vice president of marketing and business development for Stellent. "This evaluation further validates the uniqueness of our Stellent® Universal Content Management™ architecture, which offers all content management elements from a single, unified platform and interface. As a result, our customers enjoy the distinct benefits of low total cost of ownership; reduced integration, training and administrative costs; and improved operational efficiency and productivity.”

To assess the state of the ECM market and evaluate vendors against ECM platform requirements, Forrester evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of leading ECM suite vendors using its Wave methodology. The firm developed a broad set of evaluation criteria after examining past research, functional and technical requirements, vendor and expert interviews, and future trends in the ECM market. Vendors were evaluated against approximately 55 criteria, grouped into three high-level categories and 11 subcategories.

Along with this commendation, Forrester also named Stellent a leader in "The Forrester Wave™: Web Content Management, Q1 2005” report2 and a strong performer in the Sarbanes-Oxley software market in "The Forrester Wave™: Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Software, Q1 2005” report3.
