Bitrix implements new search methods in its Content Management System
An improved search method has been added to the Bitrix Site Manager. This improved search method is a morphological search. Morphological search enables users to find not only documents containing the required word, but also documents containing all the morphological forms of the sought word. This new search feature is implemented for Russian and English languages with the capability for additional languages.
"We really cannot overestimate the value of a powerful and efficient search engine for a modern site. We are all on the move, we all try to save time and want to find the exact information quickly. But for all that, users don’t want to think much and type "fridge” to find documents containing "fridge”, "refrigerator”, "refrigerators” et cetera”, speaks Sergey Ryzhikov, the Director of the Bitrix company. "The release of the morphological search is quite an event for us and our clients”, he adds.
The immediate information indexing is the key to an efficient search. Being a constituent part of the product, the Search module indexes the information straight away when it becomes modified, published or deleted. Any information published on the site ( e.g. news or a new forum message ) becomes available to be searched for immediately.
The Bitrix Site Manager Search module can index valuable information and disregard the publication facility and positioning. The indexing technology provides for precise indexing of information objects which minimizes the load on a server’s hardware.
Users can search for information in both static and dynamic ( news, articles, galleries, catalogues ) content of the site, as well as forums. Corporate clients will find access permission dependent search extremely useful.

* It uses the new result ranking algorithm which is built on the word contrast concept ( how often a word occurs in a document ).
* It works 5 to 10 times faster. For multiple site configurations, the search can be performed with all sites in the system.
