Content Management Professionals ( CM Pros ), the international professional association for content management experts, announced that it has finalized the program for its Fall 2005 Summit and that a Scandinavia chapter is in formation.

The CM Pros Scandinavia Community will provide content management professionals with networking opportunities, a forum for exchanging and examining content management topics of interest, promoting and professionalizing content management in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. In accord with the CM Pros community process, at least three CM Pros members are spearheading the startup: Janus Boye, Flemming Kristensen, Kaj Noppenau Sørensen and Stig Andersen.

"We are eager to support local members of the increasingly important content management community,” said Janus Boye, founder and managing director of Boye IT ( www.boyeit.dk ). "The CM Pros Scandinavia Community will provide content management professionals with regional networking opportunities, as well as advance the CM Pros international mission within these countries.”. The CM Pros Scandinavia Community will be launched at the cmf2005 ( www.cmf2005.dk ) conference in Aarhus, Denmark on November 8.

The final program for the CM Pros Fall 2005 Summit — to be held at the Westin Copley in Boston, Massachusetts on November 28 — illustrates the organization’s unparalleled body of knowledge. Focused on the theme "Enabling Content Personalization through Content Management," the first keynote, delivered by Tony Byrne of CMS Watch ( www.cmswatch.com ), will detail different types of personalization and describe what has to happen behind the scenes for them to work properly. This session will highlight some of the technical challenges that can challenge content personalization projects, and offer a review of "light-weight” alternatives to user empowerment.

The second keynote—presented by Ann Rockley of The Rockley Group ( www.rockley.com )—will describe how personalization depends on the ability of a system to take a user profile and user requests and produce applicable content. Reinforcing how critical content modeling is to supporting dynamic assembly of content components, this session will provide an understanding of how to define content requirements, determine how content should be structured, identify the appropriate level of granularity, and how content models work with content management systems to support personalization.

Five concurrent interactive roundtable sessions will afford attendees the opportunity to collaborate with subject matter experts on a variety of timely topics, including The Relationship Between a CMS and the Organization’s Intranet; Managing a Hybrid CMS Across the Enterprise; Taxonomies for Personalization; Workflows for Personalization; and Selecting a Content Management System.

"With a program of unparalleled depth delivered by the industry’s thought leaders, the CM Pros Fall 2005 Summit will directly and meaningfully contribute to our attendees’ needs for practical knowledge,” said Laura Walker, executive director of CM Pros. "If you’re involved in content management, you should not miss this exclusive event.”
