RedDot Solutions, provider of enterprise content management (ECM) solutions for midmarket organizations, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hummingbird Ltd., announced the City and County of San Francisco Human Services Agency (CCSF-HSA) has selected and implemented RedDot's XCMS Enterprise Content Management software, including CMS Web Content Management and LiveServer content delivery software. CCSF-HSA uses RedDot to manage the intranet site for eighteen program sites; content and business process workflows are shared across the programs.

CCSF-HSA selected RedDot primarily to deliver personalized sites and information. Using RedDot's Web Content Management and LiveServer, content contributors from eighteen programs create and manage their own content without support from the IT staff delivering personalized content to each site user. Using the same Web-based interface, the agency uses RedDot's XCMS document management, business process management and collaboration software to manage and share documents across its Intranet. Additionally, the new intranet at CCSF-HSA enables each of the programs to easily route important updates and documents through the XCMS business process management and workflow modules for review and approval. The entire project took approximately three months to implement.

In addition to personalization for the intranet, RedDot LiveServer and CMS provide the agency with a portal platform for all of their Web-based applications. Now users access almost all of their applications from one place, the intranet.

"Before we used RedDot, our users could only post document links and our Web team had to handle all other types of updates for every department, which created bottlenecks for the department and our IT team," said Vakil Kuner, CIO of CCSF-HSA. "Within a short time RedDot increased our efficiency and enriched our content. Each program truly owns and manages their content including documents, graphics, and photos. We share documents and can easily collaborate on projects. We are now extending the use of RedDot to manage two external Web sites."

Guy Schneider, RedDot's new Director of Sales for the Western Region, directs all West Coast accounts, including the CCSF-HSA, supports customer care for the region, and manages RedDot's West Coast office in Santa Clara, CA. Schneider is an industry veteran with over 17 years of enterprise software sales experience for companies, including: Vignette, Epicentric, Selectica and Comdisco. "As a technology mecca, the city of San Francisco is the quintessential client to kick off our West Coast expansion," said Schneider. "This project is vital to eighteen different key city programs and clearly delivers on our cost-effective, fast implementation promise."
