Stellent, Inc., a global provider of content management solutions, announced Reliant Energy, an electricity and energy services provider, and Emerson Process Management, a global supplier of process improvement solutions, received "Enterprise All-Star Awards” from Network World for their exceptional technology use to further business objectives.

"Our first annual Enterprise All-Star Award program honors dozens of organizations whose innovative utilization of network technology provides them with demonstrable business benefits and return-on-investment,” said Beth Schultz, editor of Network World’s Signature Series. "Winners of an Enterprise All-Star Award serve as role models for their industries, showcasing how technology can reduce spending, improve profits, grow the business or otherwise drastically impact operations. Given these parameters, we are pleased to recognize Reliant Energy and Emerson Process Management for their compliance and content management technology projects, respectively.”

Reliant Energy

Reliant Energy uses the Stellent® Sarbanes-Oxley Solution™ to more easily achieve continuous Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. In particular, Reliant Energy uses Stellent technology to automate control testing and the management of documentation, such as process narratives, process diagrams, control descriptions and matrices, test documents and remediation plans.

"Like most public companies, our early Sarbanes-Oxley work was plagued with inefficient testing mechanisms, manual processes and an overabundance of paper-based documentation that was difficult to manage and control,” said Courtney Hebert, manager of internal controls effectiveness for Reliant Energy. "The adoption of the Stellent Sarbanes-Oxley Solution addressed these challenges and eliminated the need to add headcount; significantly increased the accuracy of reporting and improved the efficiency of the external audit process. It’s an honor to have our hard work validated by one of the industry’s most well-respected publications.”

Emerson Process Management

Emerson Process Management leverages Stellent Universal Content Management™ to power more than 150 separate business applications, enabling the company to reap $3.7 million in cost savings over the last five years. Specifically, Network World honored Emerson Process Management for reducing product lifecycle management (PLM) costs and bringing its innovative GX Control Valve to market quicker using an extensive network of intranets and extranets.

"Our application of Stellent technology for the GX Control Valve project and other Web-based initiatives is essential to Emerson Process Management’s success, and it’s rewarding to see our efforts recognized by Network World,” said Mark Heindselman, manager of knowledge network and information services for Emerson Process Management. "Not only did this technology help us bring the GX Control Valve to market months faster than anticipated, we also obtained significant cost savings related to timely access to information. For example, we estimate that a single supplier extranet for our GX Control Valve suppliers in Asia saves us $20,000 annually just in managing and handling the documentation they need to make the GX valve parts for us.”

"We are pleased to see Reliant Energy and Emerson Process Management receive high praise from Network World for their Stellent implementations,” said Robert Olson, president and chief executive officer for Stellent. "These accomplishments are indicative of the increasing leadership position Stellent is taking in two rapidly growing information technology sectors — governance, risk and compliance (GRC), and enterprise content management (ECM). We look forward to working with each of these organizations in the future to ensure they continue to receive business benefit from our technology.”
