FatWire Software, provider of content management solutions for deploying Web sites and persuasive, content-centric applications, announced FatWire Content Server 6.3, the latest version of its flagship content management platform, and FatWire Analytics, the newest module in the Content Server product family. Combined, these releases extend FatWire's leadership in providing a platform for persuasive Web applications by adding user-friendly analytics and design tools that enable marketers and other business users to monitor the success of online content and quickly change its delivery. These features build accountability into persuasive content initiatives and help to ensure their success.

Content Server 6.3 and FatWire Analytics build on existing product family capabilities that make it easy for business users to create and edit content, segment customers, and target content delivery. With FatWire Analytics, marketers and other non-technical users can now also easily view data on site visitor demographics and usage patterns, content usage, and campaign success. New features in Content Server 6.3 enable non-technical users to quickly change the layout and design of content, to ensure successful content receives prominent placement and to quickly remove unsuccessful offers or promotions.

"When deploying persuasive content-centric applications intended to attract, convert, and retain customers online, marketers and other business users need more than just tools that let them create and edit content for the Web," said John Frazee, Director of Product Management at FatWire Software. "These users need easy access to data on site visitors to help with customer segmenting efforts and they need to know how content is being used. Then, if they're able to act on this data by quickly and easily changing site content and its delivery, they can close the persuasive content lifecycle. This is a critical success factor for our customers."

FatWire Analytics builds usage analysis capabilities into Content Server to enable Content Server users to access data on site visitors and content usage right from within the main Content Server interface. This ensures that those creating content and making editorial and marketing decisions are able to quickly incorporate data about site visitors and content usage into their decision-making processes. Out-of-the-box reports provide data at the asset, page, and site levels, with easy drill-down for specific time periods.

"Our content editors, marketers, and other non-technical users access analytics and usage data from the Content Server interface where they're already working," said Barbara Haanl E-marketing and Strategic marketing at Wienerberger. "This is valuable to us because users can work in a familiar interface and they don't have to learn a new system. Easy access to analytics and usage data helps these users to make the right decisions about content and this is important to the success of our online initiatives."

New features in Content Server 6.3 include:

* InSite Templating
New InSite Templating capabilities add to existing InSite Editing features that let non-technical users edit content from within the context of a Web page. Using the same interface, business users can now also add, remove, resize, and relocate content components, or "pagelets," that comprise a Web page. Empowering business users to make design changes removes costly and time-consuming IT bottlenecks and helps to ensure online campaigns and content are dynamic.

* Increased Portal Integration
Content Server 6.3 continues FatWire's focus on enabling robust content management solutions for portals. With its latest release, FatWire adds support for IBM's WebSphere Portal, providing out-of-the-box content management portlets for WebSphere Portal. It also extends the caching capabilities of FatWire Satellite Server to support portal environments. This enables customers to get the performance and security benefits offered by Satellite Server's cache for their portals. FatWire's content management solutions, Spark pCM (Portal Content Management) and Content Server enable customers to leverage an enterprise-class content management platform that also offers tight integration with leading portals to speed deployment, increase ease of use, and reduce costs.

* Additional Platform Support
With Content Server 6.3, FatWire extends its tradition of enabling customers to deploy on all industry-standard J2EE application servers and a wide array of operating systems. This release adds support for Solaris 10 and the latest versions of Oracle Application Server and Sun Java Enterprise Server.
