The Landis+Gyr Group, with its headquarters in Switzerland, has decided to relaunch its international corporate websites based on the CONTENS content management platform. Aside from the ability to flexibly integrate new material into the existing IT landscape and multi-site support, an important reason for choosing CONTENS is the ease of use that editors experience when using CONTENS. CONTENS’ Swiss partner PARX AG realized the project.

Landis+Gyr, the worldwide market leader in electrical consumption measurement, is building its entire online communication system based on the content management platform CONTENS. The business, which employs around 3,700 people in 35 communities in 29 countries, decided to use CONTENS to create and administrate its international corporate websites more quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively.

Among the reasons for choosing CONTENS was its ability to be integrated with the IT landscape already present at Landis+Gyr. CONTENS’ multi-site support enables each website to be centrally administrated from a single installation. This considerably reduces the amount of time and energy spent on administration.

Last, but not least, IT experts at Landis+Gyr were especially keen on the intuitive user interface, which helps editors optimize their daily tasks. Matthias Walti, IT specialist at Landis+Gyr and project leader, summarizes the CONTENS decision: "Of all the systems that we evaluated, the CONTENS CMS offers us the highest level of user friendliness and adaptability.” For the Landis+Gyr IT chief, the ColdFusion technological foundation was also an important factor in making the decision. The business shows to profit not only from the professional Java development environment but also from the newly shortened development period required to create new applications, thanks to the script language’s ease of use.

CONTENS’ Swiss partner PARX AG is to handle technical and graphical tasks. The firm, based in Zug, has already gathered years of CMS experience and is among the most experienced CONTENS partners in Switzerland.
