German Pension Insurance (Deutsche Rentenversicherung) - Europe's largest state pension fund, with more than 57 million customers - is to transfer its complete portfolio of online services to CoreMedia CMS. Based on the strategic content management system from CoreMedia, the fund's network of representatives and the services of all supporting organizations are to be expanded on the website, www.deutsche-rentenversicherung.de, in order to give contributors and pensioners even faster, more convenient channels for communication. The new system takes advantage of the Government Site Builder (GSB), an application especially developed for public administration by the Federal Administration Office, the central service provider of the Federal Government.
German Pension Insurance is a service provider in the area of social welfare. Since fall of last year, all of the state insurance fund's supporting organizations have been consolidated under one roof, as part of a comprehensive organizational reform. The previous Bundesversicherungsanstalt für Angestellte (BfA) (Federal Insurance Agency for Employees), the Alliance of the German Pension Carriers (the Verband Deutscher Rentenversicherungsträger e.V. (VDR)), the regional insurance agencies and the Knappschaft-Bahn-See German pension insurance fund are now unified under the single name, "German Pension Insurance".
"Saving costs, working more efficiently and strengthening services: these are the most important objectives of the organizational reform of the German Pension Insurance. Porting the IT to an homogeneous system landscape based on CoreMedia makes a decisive contribution to the success of the reforms," stated Sören Stamer, CEO and co-founder of CoreMedia.
The introduction of the unified technology platform prevents inefficiencies of doubled content management. Content can be exploited across multiple services: via the internet or the internal staff portal.
With CoreMedia CMS, CoreMedia offers insurance companies a secure and flexible technology platform for integrated information management, personalized services and multi-channel delivery. Insurance companies such as DAK, Barmer, Revios Reinsurance and MLP, the financial and insurance services provider, successfully employ CoreMedia CMS for their strategic content management. More than 60 regional and federal government bodies in Germany use CoreMedia to realize their E-Government initiatives. In addition to projects with the Government Site Builder for the German federal government, CoreMedia CMS is successfully implemented at the level of regional and local government, and in other areas of the public sector.
The implementation of CoreMedia CMS for German Pension Insurance is being executed by Materna, an IT services provider and CoreMedia Platinum partner, who developed the Government Site Builder based on CoreMedia CMS in cooperation with the German Federal Administration Office.
