CoreMedia, creator of premium technology for the content business, is to deliver its internationally acclaimed content technology to a new client: Musicload, one of the leading providers of legal music downloads. This step strengthens CoreMedia's position as one of the global leader for content delivery platforms.

With CoreMedia DRM now on board, Musicload will be able to offer a comprehensive range of digital multi-channel music products. This enables Musicload to deliver music tracks not only over the Internet, but also to mobile devices. This multi-channel delivery is one of the key characteristics of CoreMedia DRM.
"Musicload's decision to go with a flexible, high-performance system like CoreMedia DRM again underlines the importance of open standards and interoperability in the field of legal music purchasing and sharing," stated Sören Stamer, Co-Founder and CEO of CoreMedia. "It's now possible to deliver music on a number of channels - Internet and mobile - and this underlines Musicload’s excellent market position."

With its comprehensive DRM technology, CoreMedia has developed an end-to-end model for the secure and efficient marketing of content to mobile telephones, PDAs and PCs. The sophisticated technology behind CoreMedia DRM was developed in accordance with the open standards of the OMA and combines OMA DRM and Windows DRM. Furthermore, version 2.0 of CoreMedia's OMA DRM technology meets CMLA specifications.
CoreMedia has outstanding expertise in the organization of premium content such as music, TV and video, even for large-scale content systems. By exploiting this expertise, CoreMedia enables the seamless convergence of different technological platforms and content types. Managing premium content on a range of platforms and devices places high demands on a secure DRM system. Furthermore, it requires a high-performance service delivery platform - one that is able to meet the high demands of managing multiple sites and channels.
Today, CoreMedia DRM is being used on all five continents, by more than 20 telecommunications firms and content providers.

CoreMedia's client base includes Vodafone, Nokia, 24-7 MusicShop, o2, ViVO as well as Bertelsmann, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Telekom and Continental.

CoreMedia is at CeBIT in Hall 3, booth D 17.

Musicload from T-Online was launched on 11th October 2003 and is today one of the leading providers of legal music downloads. In 2005, its internet-based sales topped 15.5 million downloads. According to Media Control, Musicload last year sold 24.8 percent more digital products than the next-closest competitor in the market. This makes Musicload the market leader in the field of digital products (individual tracks, digital singles and albums). With more than 900,000 tracks on offer, Musicload enjoys particular success in the Top Ten singles charts. The T-Online platform runs in cooperation with all leading music labels and with independent labels. Tracks can be purchased from Musicload at prices between 79 cents and €1.49; albums are priced from €7.95 (plus online fees). Its quality has gained it recognition: Musicload won first place in a comparison with twelve other providers, conducted by Germany's leading consumer protection magazine, Stiftung Warentest (1/2006)
Musicload is at CeBIT at the T-Online booth in Hall 26.
