In recent weeks, Digimaker and FAST have worked intensively to put the finishing touches to the new www.fastsearch.com portal. This portal is based on Digimaker CMS as a content management system and portal framework and FAST's own search engine as an integrated part of the solution. The new solution was launched today. "Our ambition is for the portal to be an exhibition window for the good use of leading technology. FAST and Digimaker are both examples of world class Norwegian innovation. We look forward to continuing a promising collaboration," says IT Director Dag Jørgensen of FAST.

"For Digimaker, it is an important milestone to become preferred by a technology company that can choose from the top shelf amongst our competitors. This is further confirmation that we have been heading in the right direction. Recognition such as this gives us self-confidence and strengthens our desire to aim for the international market," says Digimaker's CEO Robert Kristiansen in a comment.

Strategic link

Although this project is limited to the re-launch of www.fastsearch.com, its strategic importance is far greater. As part of the project, a number of minor modifications have been made to Digimaker CMS's source code. FAST has also built a "connector", which enables FAST's search engine to index any Digimaker installation. In the future, this will mean that products may be sold under a single package. Extensive opportunities for added sales in each other's customer portfolios are also a natural consequence.
