Tridion Launches R5 Version 5.2 - New version takes strides to improve web accessibility
Tridion, a European provider of content management solutions, today announces the launch of version 5.2 of its R5 Enterprise Content Management Suite. The new version has been made more user-friendly with a particular focus on aiding web designers in developing content for accessible, well-designed websites. Version 5.2 also contains improved functionality for platform support and enterprise capabilities.
Tridion relied heavily on customer feedback to develop the new version and tailor it to their specific needs. With the requirement for accessible websites becoming a growing concern for many enterprises, the new content management suite features improved layout for designing fully accessible websites, as well as a warning system which alerts web designers if the content and layout of a website are not compatible with accessibility standards.
Version 5.2 also features improved performance for planning and publication and, thanks to an extended platform support, guarantees optimal compatibility with new releases of SQL Server, Oracle and IBM WebSphere, amongst others. The new version also includes Cascading Style Sheet support.
One of the first customers to implement Version 5.2 is the National Archives of Australia, where Tridion have partnered with Reading Room, a digital communications company with expertise in Web usability and accessibility for sectors such as the government. Reading Room is particularly enthusiastic about the advanced support Tridion 5.2 offers for accessibility.
