Migration to the latest version of Enfinity / Expansion of product offerings

Jena, Germany/Amsterdam, Netherlands - July 19, 2006 - Intershop Communications AG has been tasked with a significant project by yet another new Dutch customer, taking revenues from licenses and services to six figures. Free Record Shop, market leader in the Dutch and Belgian entertainment market totaling 400 shops in five countries, has chosen Intershop to reposition itself in the online market.

Having been online for nearly a decade, Free Record Shop now plans to deploy Intershop's packaged Enfinity Suite 6 software to support its consumer business. Due to the high volume of traffic handled by the company's websites, there was an urgent need to optimize the existing e-commerce platform. The project is scheduled for completion in late 2006.

In the process of further unfolding its 'Clicks & Bricks strategy', Free Record Shop aims to align its online presence with the leading market position the company has offline. "Our customers expect and deserve the very best the internet has to offer" Johan van Hees, managing director of Free Record Shop, says. "We are currently reconstructing our complete online business leaving room only for the best in the market. By choosing Intershop as our e-commerce platform we are confident we will be able to succeed claiming online market leadership in the near future."

"Thanks to its local and partner-based sales strategy, Intershop has a strong presence in the Benelux market," says Ralf Männlein, the Intershop board member responsible for sales and marketing. "This is reflected by the recent acquisition of four new customers in the Netherlands, which represents an important contribution to the development of our overall European business this year."

In June, Intershop announced a new order from electronics supplier Nedis.
