CoreMedia, the global provider of software solutions for convergent content business, has closed the 2005/2006 fiscal year with a record turnover of Euro 20.8 million. This represents an increase of 40% over the revenue of the previous year.

CoreMedia achieved a position of global leadership in the dynamic market of digital content commerce, thanks to its disciplined focus on the growth areas of telecommunications and media, as well as its ability to create market-relevant innovations.

These results exceed expectations for growth and, just as in the previous year, are significantly above average. "This affirms the business strategy we've been following in the last few years. We've now completed eleven quarters of profitable operation," says Sören Stamer, CEO of CoreMedia. "In addition to our positive commercial development, we've restructured our company to become a learning organization. For our staff, this means a further enhancement of our highly motivating environment of innovation."

Innovations made by CoreMedia

CoreMedia provides the information society with prize-winning software for the creation, marketing and protection of digital content.

In the last fiscal year, CoreMedia successfully expanded its product palette with a Mobile TV solution. Within this new development, it conducted a DVB-H pilot of the FIFA World Cup, in collaboration with T-Systems and the four major mobile communications operators in Germany.

Furthermore, Nokia is also successfully conducting a number of live and test operations together with CoreMedia.

In addition, CoreMedia was named as the reference implementation for the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA). More than 20 mobile communications and component providers, including Motorola, Nokia, Qualcomm and Sony Ericsson, are improving the DRM interoperability of their products by using CoreMedia test series.

Customer relationship deluxe

This year saw the intensification of CoreMedia's close cooperation with renowned international customers such as Deutsche Telekom AG, the Vodafone Group and Nokia. In addition, the company was able to win new international clients such as Sony Ericsson in Sweden and ViVo, Brazil's largest mobile communications provider. CoreMedia was thus able to expand its international operations and customer base, profiting from the growth trends in regional markets outside its home market.

International awards and honors

During the 2005/2006 financial year, CoreMedia won a number of international awards. Frost & Sullivan presented it with the "Product Line Strategy Award 2005". CoreMedia also won recognition as the "Quickest to Market" at the Ernst & Young "Innovation Area Award 2006" at the CeBIT in Hanover.
ABI Research, the market research company, ranked CoreMedia in the top position - above competitors such as Microsoft - in its current DRM study (June 2006).

In addition, one of the biggest industrial associations in the US software, IT and internet industries named CoreMedia in the renowned "Codie Award" - the only European company to win the honor - in the "Corporate Achievement" section.
