The Munich development expert today announces the launch of the PHP-Extension Morcilla, which enlarges the functionality of the Chorizo! security scanner significally. It is possible to use Morcilla as scan plugin within Chorizo! and could be used easily via the Chorizo! GUI vor advanced security scans of PHP based applications.

Morcilla detects security issues within the PHP-Sourcecode on the server side, this means over complete directory trees and hard drives. On the fly Morcilla identifies possible code inclusions, SQL injections or other issues possible through insufficient programmed sourcecode in all scanned files.

Morcilla than gives you information about the detected files and the lines whre issues where found. Therefore the detection and correction of possibole security issues in PHP-Applications becomes childs play.

After finding defect sourcecode with Morcilla, the Advisor, a feature of the commercial Chorizo! version, gives useful and detailled hints for fixing all issues to developers. This is e major surplus for developers who just began with security in applications.

Morcilla checks for a lot of PHP-Funktions like mysql_query, shell_exec, fopen and more out of the box. Furthermore other functions could be included via a with php.ini modified scan area of Morcilla.

Morcilla is available for all users of the commercial Chorizo! version without additional costs. Morcilla is not available in the free version.

Beyond that MAYFLOWER offers Security audits and different levels of security certifications for your applications. Based on our experience and the high expertise in PHP and LAMP we take care for a peaceful sleep of your developers and administrators.
