Regulatory and Compound Publishing Module for Microsoft SharePoint

New Coextant Hyper.Net module automates the collation, pagination and watermarking of multiple documents into a single compound PDF file - in print and on-line media quality.
Coextant today announced its release plan for its new Hyper.Net-based Regulatory Publishing Automation Services (RPAS) module. The new Hyper.Net module makes SharePoint a viable option for creating solutions which comply with regulatory requirements — especially those which are labor-intensive and require the compounding multiple documents into a single PDF.
"Our customers are faced with increasing regulatory requirements and compliance needs, as well as a growing challenge to meet these requirements efficiently and cost effectively. Implemented as a server-side automation service, Hyper.Net - and the new RPAS module, help organizations make SharePoint a compelling alternative to more expensive regulatory publishing solutions", said Paul Caspers, CEO at Coextant Systems International.
The Hyper.Net RPAS module will be available at the end of 2006.
Solution Capabilities
The Hyper.Net RPAS module provides an intuitive, dynamic and flexible system to control, administer, and automate the entire process of designing and compounding publications for print and online distribution.
Capabilities include:
- Enhanced SharePoint Document Library template with complete document automation functionality such as versioning, access security, review / approval workflow, taxonomy/classification, and an integrated preview function.
- Flexible definitions of publication parameters such as table of contents, page numbers, category, headers and footers, watermarking and "stamping" of meta-data.
- Ability to define and configure custom Adobe Acrobat Distiller JobOptions to create a high-impact corporate look-and-feel, optimized for print or online distribution.
- Compounded publication in PDF format including a complete table of contents and sequential page numbering, headers and footers, bookmarks, page-thumbnailing etc.
- Automated PDF publication maintenance - either scheduled or "on-demand” - based on actual workflow status and approved changes to the original source documents.
- Parallel transformation of publications into fully hyperlinked xml/html formats optimized for online consumption, navigation, search, and posting on any web/portal solution.
- Multilingual and multi-platform support, allowing integration with other IT platforms such as SAP, IBM, 3rd party CMS systems, and language translation software.
Further information
The Hyper.Net RPAS solution will be show-cased in November 2006 at Microsoft IT Forum in Barcelona, Spain and at the Sparkassen IT Forum 2006, Frankfurt, Germany, and in February 2007 at the Microsoft EMEA SharePoint Conference in Berlin, Germany.
