Hyperwave Ltd., a supplier of Collaborative Enterprise Content Management solutions has launched an updated and improved version of the Hyperwave eConferencing Suite (eCS) Version 3.0. In current times and within expanding businesses there is an ever growing need for virtual co-operation whilst reducing costs and improving product cycles. Distributed teams must be able to work independently at any time and at any location but still work quickly and efficiently. The eConferencing Suite extends Hyperwave’s proven Collaborative Information Management Platform with real time collaboration functionality and brings relevant people together at the correct time.
The new eConferencing Suite has been enhanced with several new functions which include text chat and Instant Messaging, simultaneous audio and video communication, Whiteboards, Application and Desktop sharing. The interface of the new version has become even more user friendly, allowing users to see each other online within a screen window and easily select which persons they would wish to invite to an online conference session.
"The new version of Hyperwave eCS therefore enables our customers to increase productivity between distributed internal and external teams, whilst reducing the cost of collaboration at both the technology and employee levels. The improvements that we have implemented within the new version were realised through feedback from our customers who frequently use the product." says CEO Pieter Duijst. With functionality allowing any meeting to be recorded and stored in a knowledge database, this also enables valuable organizational knowledge to be created and retained.
The new version removes the need for the users to concern themselves with technical questions. By adapting to the available bandwidth during meetings this assures that sessions can be held without any interferences or need for technical questions. Furthermore the server environment can be distributed between different sites, saving on WAN bandwidth utilisation. The audio and video Wizard determines the optimal parameters of each connection and stores these. The original configuration remains until the user joins a meeting. If the meeting is to end eCS restores the original configuration. The user notices nothing from any changes and uses their PC as usual. A large advantage of eCS is the possibility of integrating with conventional video conference systems, which work according to the H.323-Standard, and therefore can be embedded smoothly into the Windows family.
On the one hand this means the use of a common platform for collaboration for enterprises, and also an investment protection by employment of already existing infrastructure on the other hand. The new eConferencing Suite extends the Collaborative Information Management Platform of Hyperwave by real time collaboration and makes Web-conferencing possible in organizations without large expenditure.
