TechSoup Implements Percussion Software's Rhythmyx WCM Solution
Percussion Software, a developer of Web Content Management (WCM) software for multi-channel, customer-centric applications, today announced that TechSoup, the Web's leading nonprofit technology resource, has implemented the company's Rhythmyx WCM solution for its Web site.
Headquartered in San Francisco, TechSoup is dedicated to helping nonprofits enhance productivity and build sustainable technology systems that foster their missions. In addition to providing free advice and educational resources tailored to nonprofit needs, TechSoup distributes technology product donations through its TechSoup Stock service. To date, TechSoup Stock has distributed over 2.5 million technology donations to nonprofits in the U.S and beyond, saving the sector $600 million for other uses.
TechSoup's search for a WCM solution began when the organization identified several needs that were going unmet by their previous, homegrown content management system. The TechSoup staff needed a flexible, easy-to-use WCM solution that would enable them to maintain Web content more efficiently and be much more productive. They also required a scalable solution that supported some fundamental business criteria, including: multiple workflows, metadata for content, and increased support for standard, Web-compliant templates. In addition, they wanted to be able to more easily enrich the content of their "Learning Center" section, allow for more customized content and to enable their editors and writers to focus on content (not HTML) and their IT staff to focus on tech strategies (not publishing HTML pages). After evaluating a dozen different content management solutions, TechSoup chose and implemented Percussion's Rhythmyx.
