Armedia LLC, a provider of content management related products and solutions in the United States, announced today that it has developed and released a brand new EMC Documentum integration application. Caliente! uses the filesystem as the glue between Documentum and other systems to provide a convenient integration medium.

At its core, Caliente! provides simple filesystem-based workflows which contain tasks that interact with Documentum. The most popular application of Caliente! enables the automatic import of content and metadata. Other activities such as zipping, copying, deleting, and e-mailing files can be combined with Documentum. Caliente! also provides a framework for extension and customization to add tasks that may include interaction with other systems in addition to as Documentum. Thus, Caliente! provides an open and versatile foundation for building custom integrations with Documentum.

Caliente! allows users to designate certain folders on the filesystem as hot folders and monitors their contents (files) for changes. Each hot folder is associated with one or more tasks that are performed on the contents when new or modified files are detected. For example, a new file in a hot folder can be compressed and imported into a repository automatically. This capability opens the door for easy integration with applications that can export files, automatically archive log files or even execute anonymous content contribution to a Documentum repository.

The possibility of anonymous contribution adds immense value to organizations where the number of content creators is significantly more than the content consumers. This capability makes it possible for users to just drag and drop files into local folders in order to insert them into a repository. This simplicity eliminates the need for users to learn Documentum, reducing complexity and cost.

Caliente! offers a valuable tool for organizations looking for a simple and affordable Documentum integration solution that supports customization and extension to meet growing specific needs. The out-of-the-box capabilities are quick and easy to set up and start generating value in no time.

Caliente! supports all platforms certified by DFC 5.3, including Linux, Unix, and MS Windows.
