Liferay, provider of an enterprise-class, open source portal and content management system, today announced the opening of a European headquarters in Germany to serve the professional services needs of enterprise customers throughout continental Europe and the United Kingdom. Expanding its services the company responds to the strong adoption rate among European enterprise users.

Liferay's new European office, located at Siemens Strase 6F in Langen, Germany, began operations in October, 2006. The office is a key component of Liferay's plan to aggressively expand its services to enterprise customers outside of North America.

"Liferay is fast becoming a global standard for enterprise-class portal development and content management," said Suresh Shamanna, director of European operations and head of Liferay's European headquarters. "Our company is experiencing a significant upswing in demand for development, services and training around our products, particularly in Germany and the broader European community."
