Hyperwave Strengthens its Market Position in E-Government
Hyperwave, provider of Collaborative Information Management (CIM) solutions, has further boosted its market presence in the international e-government sector: Hyperwave, together with BULL Information Systems Ltd., have implemented an infrastructure for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (BMBC) in Yorkshire, England, which makes the council’s entire information base accessible in a structured format, efficiently manages web content and complies with data and information management regulations. The BMBC thus joins a long list of international Hyperwave customers from the public sector, among them the Federal Employment Agency, the City of Edinburgh and the American Department of Defense. The Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council’s ambitious project highlights the broad catalogue of requirements placed on Collaborative Information Management (CIM) today by public sector institutions: A state-of-the-art yet economical solution was needed to cover the areas of Web Content Management (WCM), Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Document and Records Management (EDRMS), Collaboration (Ecs) and Process Management. ‘After an in-depth evaluation by Barnsley and Cimtech, an IT consulting company who specialises in the e-government sector, they decided on our Hyperwave IS/6 Collaborative Information Management Platform. Hyperwave was the only manufacturer who could offer an integrated yet modular platform for Enterprise Content Management and a TNA 2.0 certified Records Management suite’, explains Christoph Michel, Senior V.P. for International Business and Managing Director UK at Hyperwave. ‘So we were able to offer a customer-specific solution with a reduced development time, while at the same time cutting the total cost of ownership for the customer.’ Faster project implementation with Hyperwave basis platform Hyperwave, together with BULL Information Systems Ltd., developed a two-stage project timetable for Barnsley MBC: In the first stage, they implemented a Web Content Management solution and migrated existing content into the new system. This was followed by the incremental introduction of an ECM infrastructure, which today enables structured access to all the city council’s distributed data, regardless of whether this data originally existed in electronic or paper form. The integration of the Hyperwave EDRMS product ensures complete compliance with an array of legal provisions concerning data management in the public administration market. In addition, the integrated basis platform and Hyperwave’s consistently integrative approach meant that the project could be implemented in record time. 12.02.2007, Hyperwave Information Management GmbH
