SiteFoundry released their Content Management System providing new tools especially for agencies. The system enables customers to design complex websites within minutes.

SiteFoundry today released their Content Management System (CMS) built specifically for agencies. This second generation version was built with the assistance of top London peers and provides a tool for the web industry to build updateable websites quickly, with an easy-to-use back end.

The standards and trends for websites have dramatically changed over the past three years. For example, the spreading acceptance of languages such as CSS, XHTML and increasing use of AJAX technology in online applications. Companies now want websites that do far more than an online brochure and up until now agencies have had little in the way of tools to help them fulfil the demand. According to industry feedback gathered by SiteFoundry's sister company Design Ontap, agencies need an online based system through which they can upload accessible XHTML page templates, manage rich media, install modules that add complex features such as eCommerce and most importantly brand the system as their own. SiteFoundry addresses all of these requirements.

SiteFoundry provides agencies with the ability to build a full-featured website, however complex in design, in minutes. This is supported by their highly competitively priced off-the-shelf stock modules such as Products, eCommerce, Mailer, News, Articles and Blog.

Design Ontap have reported a lack of web developers in the market, which is proving to be a problem with web agencies around the UK. SiteFoundry requires little internal resource however, which could be the answer the industry is looking for.

CEO Glen Richardson talks about the support issue of content managed websites: "When we ventured into building SiteFoundry my biggest worry was support. However, our beta Value Added Resellers (VAR's) only needed to take their clients through the system once and they rarely heard back from the client - they simply 'got it'". Director of Product Development and product founder Tim Southcombe adds: "We built SiteFoundry due to demand from Design Ontap agency clients. Their watchwords were flexibility, extensibility and portability. We delivered on all accounts".

SiteFoundry will only be sold via a Value Added Reseller (VAR) and is available for £350 + VAT per licence, with no further ongoing fees. This licence includes the core functionality of the brandable back system, admin levels, menu and page management, template manager and media management. Agencies can create their own modules or even commission Design Ontap, SiteFoundry's sister company, to build bespoke modules on demand.

Version 3 of SiteFoundry is currently under development - its release is planned for late this year. It will feature language localisation, integration into Dreamweaver for template building and a history-based rollback feature.
