FIRSTspirit has assumed central management for the content of Commerzbank and subsidiaries’ websites. Several migration and new projects are scheduled for completion by 2010

FIRSTspirit, the content management system from e-Spirit, a Dortmund-based software company, will function as the strategic CMS for the commerzbank.de and .com websites starting from mid 2007. The Internet and Intranet sites operated by the Commerzbank will follow in 2008.

In a selection process, e-Spirit was able to assert itself against a total of more than 20 competitors. In addition to a possible SAP portal integration, the scales tipped in favor of FIRSTspirit due to the separation of contents and structure anchored in the system. This division enables the Commerzbank to update the contents cross-functionally and to publish contents related to the subject involved.

The technical implementations of the different projects will be undertaken by the IT department at the Commerzbank in cooperation with the Dortmund-based adesso AG. As a consulting firm and IT service provider, adesso has a great deal of experience in the definition and implementation of e-Business strategies right on up to the development and integration of highly complex, business-critical applications.

FIRSTspirit acts as the basic service for all Commerzbank departments. All contents are entered, edited and output from here on the different live systems. For the Commerzbank, the client’s user-friendliness is another bonus - after all, a total of 2,000 editors are currently publishing contents in more than 15 languages on the many national and international websites. To customize services to meet the needs of occasional and frequent users, FIRSTspirit provides a Web client as well as a Java client.

According to current planning, FIRSTspirit will be used for more than 20 country sites in total in each country’s language.
