FatWire Software, provider of content management and delivery solutions for deploying Web sites and applications, announced the general availability of FatWire Content Server 7, the latest release of its award-winning Web Content Management platform.

"With Content Server 7, FatWire is breaking new ground by putting content management capabilities into the hands of anyone involved with eBusiness initiatives, making it even easier for them to design and deliver engaging, persuasive online experiences,” said John Murcott, Vice President, Products and Strategy at FatWire.

Content Management for Everyone means that:

- Casual content contributors can create, modify, and arrange content without learning new tools, and without even realizing they are using a content management system.

- Marketers can gain more ownership and control of the Internet channel and online experiences by defining personas and segments, tailoring the delivery of content to site visitors, and analyzing visitor behavior in real time.

- Companies can now facilitate bi-directional communication over the Internet by enabling site visitors to create user-generated content in the form of comments, reviews, ratings, and discussion forums. With the rise of social media and Web 2.0, the importance of site visitors to the expansion of the content ecosystem has risen dramatically.

- Developers and administrators, freed from doing work better done by business experts, can focus on rapidly deploying new initiatives and enhancing existing site functionality, further improving the ROI gained from using the Content Server platform.

Content Server 7 delivers Content Management for Everyone through several new and enhanced features in its suite for creating persuasive online experiences. Content Server now has three interfaces that are designed to accommodate the different usage patterns and types of users in an organization:

- The Insite interface is streamlined for use by anyone who wants to manage content and page layout from within the actual pages of the site. In this WYSIWYG environment, users can add/remove/re-sequence content on a page, preview content changes, drag and drop page components, and invoke workflow processes.

- The Dash interface is designed for the frequent business user who wants intuitive, streamlined access to the content tasks performed every day. Users can create, compare and translate content for different locales and languages. Enhanced full-text search across all types of content makes it easy to find content that already exists.

- The Advanced interface for power users and developers should be familiar to anyone who has used the software application.

Anyone that uses Web 2.0 sites is familiar with using tags as an incredibly easy way to group, organize, and get quick access to the most used content. Content Server 7 brings the concept of tags to content contributors and editors. Tags are user defined, so each user can choose tags that make sense to them. The same tag can be applied to different types of content, allowing you to group content any way you want, such as by campaign, project, or day of the week.

FatWire’s Content Server 7 allows companies to easily expand their web presence into global markets, while never having to worry about keeping different language versions of content synchronized. Multilingual support is built directly into the data model, so that any content can be translated into multiple languages. This greatly reduces language translation costs and complexity, while ensuring consistent branding across regions.

Content Server 7 now has enhanced full-text search to provide faster access to content that users want to edit or copy, while reducing the chance of recreating content that already exists. Content of different types can be fully searched at one time, using familiar keywords and metadata. Companies can more easily repurpose existing content for multiple sites and channels. FatWire Content Server 7 is available immediately.
