CoreMedia, the global provider of software solutions for convergent content business, provides the content management technology for fussball.de, the Internet platform run by the German football association (DFB) and T-Com. On www.fussball.de, fans can access comprehensive information about their favourite teams and get together to talk about goals, players, fouls and game results. The football community has been enthusiastically using this social network since the relaunch of fussball.de.

The expansion of the Internet portal on the basis of CoreMedia’s CMS has seen fussball.de extended to include many features and services designed to help improve communication. The flexible and open architecture of CoreMedia’s CMS forms the basis for the simple and seamless integration of external content such as international football leagues, results from the German premiership, and content contributed by the community.

Willms Buhse, Executive Director at CoreMedia: "Taking only about 10 weeks, the relaunch of fussball.de achieved the goal of creating a portal that encourages active participation by the football fan community through user-friendly interfaces. The site is supported by our high-performance technology, which keeps page delivery running smoothly and enables the straightforward management of site content for editing staff.”

After a comprehensive system integration, carried out by considion system GmbH, CoreMedia’s people-centric software now offers sports editorial staff a professional editing environment for providing up-to-the-minute game reports and news from the world of football.
