FIRSTspirit is to become the strategic content management system for all Ippen Group media portals, which include the German Münchener Merkur and TZ newspapers.

FIRSTspirit, the content management system produced by the Dortmund-based software house e-Spirit, will be introduced as the strategic CMS for all Internet portals belonging to the Ippen newspaper publishing group, starting this fall.

The task of selecting a suitable system fell to Ippen Digital, the central IT service provider for the Ippen Group. In a careful selection process, the responsible parties ensured that the system finally chosen had a high integration capacity, facilitating connections to outside systems. Among the criteria specified by Ippen Digital were the inclusion of community functions and the search engine technology Fast Search, as well ensuring the automatic import of numerous different news formats, such as used, for example, by the dpa and Reuters news agencies. FIRSTspirit was able to convince the decision-makers on all counts.

Around fifty of the media company’s regional portals will be equipped with FIRSTspirit in the mid-term.
