BGV / Badische Versicherungen select FIRSTspirit content management system for new website
Accessibility and more services for website visitors; simple and comfortable handling for website editors
From this month, FIRSTspirit, the content management system (CMS) from Dortmund-based software company e-Spirit, is being used for the Badischer Gemeinde Versicherungs Verband (BGV) website. The 14 website editors using the new system will profit from greatly simplified and accelerated content maintenance, without the need for long and complicated training schemes or adjustment time. Site visitors, on the other hand, will profit from an expanded range of services and information in a fresh and accessible design.
The Badische Versicherungen Group unites the Badischer Gemeinde Versicherungs Verband, the Badische Allgemeine Versicherung AG and the Badische Rechtsschutzversicherung AG under one roof. The website showcasing the services offered by the long-established insurance provider from the southern German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg attracts several thousand visitors a month.
Since the beginning of July, the new website has become even more attractive. The site now offers a clearly structured and much more detailed range of information on the topic of insurance and BGV products. Price calculators and service tools enable accurate research and convenient online contract closure. Moreover, a special website area offering tailor-made information to business customers has been set up for this target group.
However, BGV project manager Carsten Gauch and his team did not just have the welfare of website visitors in mind when working on this project. The website editors’ work has been simplified, the time-to-web period got shorter and the conformity with the Group’s Corporate Identity has been ensured.
All these improvements were made possible thanks to FIRSTspirit. An essential advantage of this content management system is the strict separation of structure, layout and content: content that has been submitted once can be used in as many different places as required and in different types of media, for example in brochures or PDF documents. Every publication occurs in strict compliance with the CI - without editors having to pay attention to the specifics. FIRSTspirit offers two different clients depending on user habits: the WEBclient can be operated intuitively and has been specially designed for occasional users, whereas the JAVAclient includes all functions of the editing environment.
Thanks to the positive experience made by the BGV in this project, it has already made further concrete plans for the future, which include the restructuring of its customer and sales force portals - with FIRSTspirit.31.07.2007, Christiane Capps
